During the job interview, David reflected on his experience on the course, saying: “I recalled on my experience on my MA Interactive Media Practice – we did a project with Orange as part of our HackLAB module. This was an industry live brief where we tackled various challenges in data trust, micro plastics and behavioural change through digital transformation. I mentioned this project and some of the new emerging technologies we used such as Amazon Sumerian and this completely changed the dynamics in the interview. I showed them the work I produced on the MA and they were really impressed.”

Within the Interactive Media Practice MA course, David engaged in complex problem solving, critical thinking and creativity, as well as undergoing tests to measure emotional intelligence, decision making and working in collaborative teams.

David said: “My course leader really assisted me. He encouraged me to apply and go for the role and his lectures and tutorials are very motivational and inspirational. My student journey on the course has been truly transformational, originally coming from Africa to study a masters in the UK, I’m now employed by a global technology firm, with excellent perks.”

Savraj Matharu, Course Leader of the Interactive Media Practice MA course, said of the opportunity: “This will be our second student that has now been recruited by Arm, which is rare given the Cambridge University talent pipeline. Employability and digital environments are key to our university strategy. It’s great to see our students achieving and operating at world class level in a highly competitive field. David has travelled from Africa to better his life and ended up with a fantastic job with a global technology giant.
